A Curriculum Built for Curious Minds

At Little Horizon, we believe the earliest years of a child's life are the most formative β€” and the most joyful. Our curriculum is carefully designed to honour each child's natural curiosity while building the foundations they need to thrive in school and beyond. We draw from the best of global early childhood education: the child-led exploration of Montessori, the structured developmental milestones of the British EYFS, and the cultural richness of the Arab world. The result is a programme that is both internationally rigorous and locally rooted. Every day at Little Horizon is thoughtfully planned. Children move between structured learning, creative play, outdoor exploration, sensory discovery, and group storytelling β€” all guided by qualified educators who know each child as an individual.

Our Mission: Our mission is simple: to make every child feel safe, loved, and endlessly capable. We partner with families to celebrate milestones, address challenges early, and ensure every child arrives at school ready to shine.

Child-Centred Learning

Every activity begins with what the child finds meaningful. We follow their interests and use them as entry points for deeper learning.

Family Partnership

Parents are our partners. Daily digital reports, monthly progress meetings, and open-door policies keep families close to every milestone.

Cultural Pride

We celebrate Emirati heritage, Islamic values, and the diversity of our community through stories, celebrations, and language every single day.

Gentle Discovery for the Youngest Learners

Our infant and toddler programme is built around sensory exploration, language immersion, and the development of trust and attachment. Educators sing, read, and talk with children constantly, building vocabulary and emotional security in a calm, beautiful environment. Activities include soft-play exploration, water and sand sensory trays, simple puzzles, music and movement, and daily outdoor time in our shaded garden.

Building Confidence Through Play

At ages 2 to 3, children are ready to explore the world with growing independence. Our Early Learners programme introduces structured group activities, simple art projects, early Arabic and English vocabulary, and collaborative play. Educators guide social skills like sharing, turn-taking, and expressing emotions β€” setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy relationships.

Curiosity Meets Structure

Our Pre-KG programme introduces children to a gentle daily routine that mirrors primary school life β€” circle time, learning centres, group projects, and individual challenges. Children begin recognising letters and numbers in both English and Arabic, develop pencil grip and fine motor skills, and engage in science experiments, cooking activities, and dramatic play that build real-world understanding.

Ready for School, Ready for Life

Our flagship Bright Futures programme prepares children for KG1 with a comprehensive school-readiness curriculum. Children develop pre-literacy and numeracy skills, learn to follow multi-step instructions, present to their classmates, and manage their own belongings. By graduation, Bright Futures children read simple sentences, write their names in both scripts, and approach new challenges with genuine confidence.

How It Works

1

Book a Tour

Visit Little Horizon in person or virtually. Meet our team, explore our classrooms and outdoor spaces, and ask every question on your mind. Tours are free, relaxed, and available six days a week. Most families say the tour alone gives them complete peace of mind.

2

Complete Your Application

Submit your child's application online or in person. We'll ask for basic information about your child's age, developmental stage, and any specific needs. Applications are reviewed within 48 hours and we confirm placement availability promptly.

3

Settle-In Sessions

We believe in a gentle transition. Before your child's first full day, we invite families for two short settle-in sessions where children explore the classroom with a parent present. This builds trust, reduces separation anxiety, and ensures the first real day is a happy one.

4

Welcome to the Family

Your child officially joins the Little Horizon family. From day one, you'll receive daily digital updates, photos, and a weekly learning summary. Our door β€” and WhatsApp β€” is always open. We grow together, every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you accept at Little Horizon?
We welcome children from 12 months to 5 years old. Our programmes are divided into four age-appropriate groups: Infants & Toddlers (1–2), Early Learners (2–3), Pre-KG (3–4), and Bright Futures (4–5). Each group has its own dedicated classroom, curriculum, and lead educator.
Is Little Horizon registered with ADEK?
Yes, Little Horizon Daycare is fully registered with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and meets all regulatory standards for private early childhood centres in the emirate. We undergo regular inspections and are proud of our outstanding compliance record.
What languages are spoken at the daycare?
Our programme is bilingual English and Arabic. All educators speak both languages fluently and integrate them naturally throughout the day β€” in songs, stories, instructions, and conversation. Children develop genuine comfort in both languages without any pressure.
How do you handle dietary requirements and allergies?
We take allergies and dietary requirements very seriously. All meals are prepared in our on-site kitchen by a qualified nutritionist. Upon enrollment, we collect detailed information about your child's dietary needs and create a personalised meal plan. Our kitchen is completely nut-free.
What is your child-to-educator ratio?
We maintain a maximum ratio of 5:1 for children aged 1–2, 7:1 for ages 2–3, and 8:1 for ages 3–5. These ratios are among the lowest in Abu Dhabi and ensure every child receives meaningful individual attention every single day.
Can I visit during the day to check on my child?
We operate an open-door policy for parents. You are welcome to visit at any time during operating hours. We also provide live updates throughout the day via our parent app, including photos, activity summaries, meal reports, and nap times β€” so you're always close, even when apart.
When does the new academic year begin?
Our main intake begins in September, aligned with the Abu Dhabi school calendar. However, we also accept mid-year enrollments subject to availability. We recommend applying at least 8 weeks before your preferred start date to secure your child's place.
Do you offer any sibling discounts?
Yes! Families enrolling two or more children receive a 10% discount on the second child's tuition. We also offer a referral programme β€” if you refer a new family who enrolls, you'll receive one month's fee at 20% off. Ask our admissions team for details.
